• Types of Data: Primary and Secondary data
• Techniques of primary data collection: Observation, Interview, Questionnaire and Schedule
• Sources of Secondary data

Techniques of Data Presentation

• Frequency distributions- types and shapes
• Tabular Presentation- Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate
• Diagrammatic and Graphic Presentation of data

Unit III: 
Statistical Analysis of Data-Measures of Central Tendency

• Mean (arithmetic, geometric and harmonic),
• Median and
• Mode.

Unit IV: 
Statistical Analysis of Data- Measures of Variability

• Dispersion - Range, Quartile Deviation, Mean Deviation, Standard Deviation and Coefficient of Variation.
• Skewness – Karl Pearson’s Coefficient

Correlation and Regression

• Correlation (Product-moment and rank coefficient of correlation)
• Regression (fitting straight line trend using least-square method)
